Multiple European Clubs Interested in Signing Tuta
In 2019 Eintracht Frankfurt signed Tuta from São Paulo for a fee of €1.8m. More than 6 years and 187 appearances later, his story at Eintracht could come to an end. With only one year left on his contract, Tuta is exploring his options and there seem to be plenty of them. SGE expert Christopher Michel has revealed four teams that are monitoring the 25-year-old.
SSC NAPOLI
Napoli are the most prominent club linked to the Brazilian. After winning the Serie A, they returned to the category of "European Top Clubs". Their signing of Kevin De Bruyne has cemented their status. A move to Napoli could be a very interesting step in Tuta‘s career. With Alessandro Buongiorno and Amir Rrahmani he would have serious competition, but still a realistic chance to get into the first team.
VILLAREAL
Villareal have qualified for the Champions League through a 5th place finish, as LaLiga have been rewarded with an extra qualifying spot for next season. The Spanish style of play would definitely suit the technically gifted defender. At The Yellow Submarine he would probably be signed as a starter.
REAL BETIS
Betis are in need of a new center back. That’s why they’re currently the most serious contender for Tuta‘s signature. According to Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportiva, they have already made an offer of €8m, which Eintracht rejected. At Betis Tuta would also have good chances of becoming a starter. However, he would miss out on Champions League football, as Los Verdiblancos finished 6th in the past LaLiga season.
CRYSTAL PALACE
At Crystal Palace Tuta could reunite with former manager Oliver Glasner. During Glasner’s time at Frankfurt, the Brazilian was an undisputed starter. This might change at Crystal Palace, however, if star defender Marc Guehi left the club, Tuta would be a serious candidate for the starting lineup. He would also continue to play in the 3-4-2-1 system he knows best. As Palace won their first ever FA Cup last season, Tuta would also continue to play European football.
THE SITUATION
Markus Krösche has offered Tuta a new contract, as he would like to keep one of the longest serving players at the club. Both parties are in talks, as Bild reports. Tuta now needs to decide whether he’d like to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt or leave for a new adventure. In case of a move, Krösche hopes for a transfer fee of €15m. Ko Itakura would be the preferred replacement.
Do you think Tuta will stay or leave? And would you prefer Tuta or Itakura?
