Igor Matanovic Set For Eintracht Frankfurt Departure

Eintracht Frankfurt are actively looking for new strikers. Igor Matanovic is not a part of Toppmöller’s plans anymore, meaning a departure now seems the most likely. According to Bild, two Bundesliga clubs are in concrete negotiations with the Croatian striker.

After just one season of actually playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, Igor Matanovic is already being sold on. Considering his performances last season, and the signing of Jonathan Burkardt and possibly even another striker, a transfer only makes sense. 

SC Freiburg are reportedly one of the two teams that are reportedly close to signing the 22-year-old. The other team was not named in the article. VfB Stuttgart, FC Augsburg and Werder Bremen were previously linked with Matanovic.

The 1.94m-tall forward is likely to generate a transfer fee of around €8m. Eintracht initially signed him for €500k in 2022.
